Chief of Staff
LocateAI
The role
Job description
About [link removed]
Locate is the first AI-native leasing solution for commercial real estate, a $100B industry stuck in the past. We use geospatial AI to help national consumer brands find and lease their next location.
Today, 150+ brands -- including F45, Gold's Gym, bb.q, and The Picklr -- work with Locate to roll out an AI-integrated expansion strategy. Locate is backed by Pear, 8VC, Slow, Matchstick, and Hat-Trick among others.
About the role
As Chief of Staff, you will be a cross-functional operator and force multiplier for the CEO and leadership team. You will own strategic and operational projects that cut across Sales, Client Services, Finance, Operations, and Product.
One month, you may be building a scalable accounts receivable and collections process. The next, you may be helping redesign how we track revenue or implementing an AI-powered workflow to reduce manual work. The common thread: you will be responsible for turning messy, important problems into clear A.I.-driven processes and outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Own high-priority strategic initiatives on behalf of the CEO and leadership team, especially projects that cut across multiple functions.
- Build scalable operating systems for areas like revenue tracking, accounts receivable, collections, client operations, sales operations, reporting, and internal workflows.
- Use AI as a core operating lever to automate manual work, improve team throughput, and create more scalable internal processes.
- Create structure out of ambiguity by defining goals, owners, timelines, metrics, operating cadence, and follow-up mechanisms.
- Partner with functional leaders across Sales, Operations, Client Services, Finance, Product, and Engineering to align priorities and drive execution.
- Build and manage scrappy operational capacity where needed, including vendors, offshore support, contractors, or internal process teams.
- Prepare decision-quality materials for leadership meetings, investor updates, board discussions, and company-wide communications.
What We're Looking For
- 3–7 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture-backed startups, business operations, strategic finance, or a similarly analytical and execution-heavy environment.
- Exceptional analytical ability and business judgment. You can quickly understand a business problem, identify the key drivers, and build a practical plan.
- AI-first mindset. You naturally look for ways to use AI, automation, and systems to make work faster, better, and more scalable.
- Strong financial and operational instincts. You are comfortable with revenue, margins, collections, forecasting, dashboards, and process design.
- High agency and low ego. You are willing to build the model, write the memo, call the customer, manage the spreadsheet, hire the contractor, and follow up until the work is done.
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You can communicate clearly with executives, operators, salespeople, engineers, investors, and external partners.
