📝 Work Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated 3D Artist to join our Vehicles Team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed, optimized, and game-ready assets for use in simulation environments. You’ll be working alongside a passionate team of developers and artists to help bring complex vehicles to life in Microsoft Flight Simulator and similar platforms.
🥸 Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D models of vehicles and their components based on reference materials including photos, videos, and technical documentation.
- Develop textures and materials using industry-standard texturing software and techniques.
- Rig and animate complex mechanical components and systems such as aircraft landing gear, control surfaces, and doors.
- Optimize assets for performance while maintaining high visual fidelity, including LOD creation and efficient UV layouts.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot issues related to 3D asset integration and export pipelines.
- Follow internal workflows and naming conventions to ensure compatibility and project-wide consistency.
✅ Requirements
- Proficiency in 3D modelling using 3ds Max.
- Strong understanding of modelling and texturing techniques, with a keen eye for shape and detail accuracy.
- Basic experience with rigging and animation fundamentals.
- Familiarity with optimization workflows and creating LODs.
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently.
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating in English.
- Capable of working from a variety of reference sources to accurately recreate complex structures.
💪 Preferred Qualifications & Traits
- Previous experience creating high-quality aircraft or vehicle models.
- Personal interest in aviation, simulation, or gaming.
- Experience working with the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK and DevTools.
- Knowledge of the MSFS-specific rigging, exporting, and troubleshooting pipelines.
🛠️ Software Proficiency
- Autodesk 3ds Max.
- Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter 3D, or similar tools used in the texturing pipeline.
