The role
Job description
Advanced Strategic Insight (ASI) is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support the Senior VP of Corporate Affairs and the organization’s day-to-day financial operations. This role combines hands-on accounting with executive-level support in a fast-paced, compliance-driven government contracting environment.
The ideal candidate has experience with Deltek’s Costpoint software and a strong understanding of government accounting practices. They thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and can seamlessly shift between focused, detail-oriented work and reactive, time-sensitive priorities without compromising quality or professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Support accounting processes such as recording expense reports and vendor payments in Deltek Costpoint.
- Assist with subcontractor operations, including tracking hours and travel for compliance, ensuring proper documentation, coordinating contract and funding modifications, validating invoices, and handling PO management in Costpoint.
- Support journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
- Assist with financial reporting, data analysis, and audit preparation.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and DCAA.
Executive & Operational Support
- Support the SVP with daily financial and administrative priorities including scheduling, travel, organizing and maintaining department files.
- Track deadlines, audits, and key deliverables.
- Prepare financial presentations and leadership materials.
- Coordinate across internal teams and external vendors.
- Handle confidential communications and ad hoc research/projects.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of accounting/finance experience (government contracting preferred)
- Deltek Costpoint software experience required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and DCAA requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Executive administrative support experience
- Government contract / project accounting
- Audit support experience (DCAA or external audits)
