Job description
This is a remote position.
Advertising Compliance & Risk LeadReports To: Founder / CEOLocation: Remote (Worldwide)Type: Full-timeComp. Range: $2,500–$3,500/monthWhy This Role ExistsWe operate in a high-risk compliance environment. We sell natural health products using direct-response advertising to an older demographic. Our two biggest existential risks are: (1) ad account shutdowns from platform policy violations, and (2) FTC or regulatory action from health-related marketing [link removed] currently use an AI-powered compliance checking system that reviews ad scripts and final videos against a tiered framework developed with legal counsel. But no one fully owns compliance across the company. We need a dedicated operational [link removed] RoleYou will be the single point of accountability for compliance across all customer-facing content: ads, emails, funnels, and marketing materials. This is NOT a legal counsel role — we have external attorneys for that. This is an operational compliance role: you ensure every piece of content meets our standards before it reaches [link removed] requirement: Our compliance system runs on AI and prompt engineering. We produce massive creative volume — manual review alone is impossible. You must be highly proficient with AI tools and prompt engineering. AI compliance system: maintaining, testing, and improving the automated compliance prompts that review creative output at scale.
Compliance framework: keeping our tiered guidelines current with the latest FTC guidance, platform policies, and industry benchmarks.
The balance: catching genuine risks without being so restrictive that it kills advertising performance.
Pre-publication review workflows for ads, advertorials, landing pages, emails, and sales copy.
Platform policy monitoring across Meta, Google, AppLovin, TikTok, and emerging channels.
Regulatory monitoring: tracking FTC enforcement actions, FDA guidance, and state-level regulations.
You Are the Right Fit If
You understand the health/wellness advertising compliance landscape: FTC guidelines, structure/function claims, testimonial rules, platform policies.
You know how to play the line — you understand risk management: what is defensible, what is industry-standard, and what is a red line. You are not someone who says no to everything.
You are highly proficient with AI and prompt engineering — you can write, test, and iterate on prompts that accurately flag risky content at scale. This is a core part of the job, not a nice-to-have.
Detail-oriented but pragmatic. Compliance exists to protect the business, not to prevent it from growing.
Nice to Have
Experience designing review workflows or QA systems at creative scale.
Experience in categories where both regulatory risk and platform-policy risk matter.
90-Day SuccessComplete audit of the current AI compliance system — tested against known examples, gaps identified and fixed. Compliance checking extended to email and funnel content. Updated guidelines reflecting latest FTC and platform policy changes. Established a regular compliance review cadence with the creative and funnel teams.
