East Coast Processing Team Lead

About the Role

A large independent mortgage banker is looking for a hands-on leader to run its corporate processing operation. You'll manage a team of up to 10 senior processors handling a full mix of purchase and refinance business — conventional, government, non-QM, and renovation — with processors averaging 25-30 closed units a month. This is a pure leadership seat: you won't be processing files yourself, you'll be building, coaching, and running the team that does.

Important: this is a corporate/centralized processing leadership role, not a branch-level position. Candidates need large-IMB corporate processing management experience to be considered.

What You'll Own

Team leadership & development

Manage day-to-day performance across the processing team — coaching, training, quality control, and ongoing development. Run weekly one-on-ones, team meetings, and department calls, and keep timekeeping, attendance, and overtime on track.

Pipeline & production oversight

Assign files across the team, monitor turn times against SLA, and keep the team's pipeline moving. Hold weekly pipeline reviews with branch partners and step in on underwriting or closing escalations that need extra muscle.

Quality & compliance

Spot-check files for quality and training gaps, review borrower credit/income/asset documentation ahead of underwriting submission, and keep the pipeline compliant with RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and Reg B — including timely disclosures and redisclosures.

Cross-functional partnership

Serve as the go-to contact for Branch Managers and Operations, work alongside other Team Leads and the Regional Corporate Processing Manager, and support Closing, Secondary, and Servicing in clearing outstanding suspense items. Keep the LOS notes current and respond to email/phone within SLA.

Requirements

• Leadership experience running a corporate/centralized processing team at a large IMB

(branch processing leadership does not meet this requirement).

• Track record managing 8-10+ processors, including performance management and coaching
• Solid grounding in conventional, government, non-QM, and renovation lending
• Working knowledge of RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and Reg B
