Legal Counsel

Key Responsibilities:

This role requires you to be a key business partner to ensure compliance within the regulatory and organizational framework while meeting the organizations corporate and commercial objectives. In particular, you will:-

• Provide accurate, prompt and robust commercial legal advice to the Business Units and on mergers and acquisitions while ensuring legal risks are identified and managed.
• Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and be involved in negotiating critical agreements.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial and operational contracts, including employment related contracts.
• Have a strong litigation background with the ability to devise defensive and proactive strategies as well as experience in resolving claims matters efficiently.
• Instruct and manage external lawyers and legal costs.
• Provide legal training and updates on new laws and regulations in accordance with the business needs.

Key Requirements:

• A recognized law degree, including from Singapore, The United Kingdom or Australia with 5 years post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm and/or in an in-house position in a corporation.
• Qualified to practice law in Thailand.
• A strong corporate and commercial background with experience in handling procurement, licensing matters, employment matters, and disputes.
• Strong interpersonal communication and management skills as the role will involve close interaction with Management, business units, and the regional legal team.
• Sound commercial sense and critical thinking skills, a proactive practical approach, and the ability to manage a range of issues involving multiple areas of law are critical traits necessary for this role.
• Mature, analytical, self-driven and a team player.
