We are looking for a talented Livery Painter to join our Vehicles Team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, accurate, and visually striking aircraft liveries for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Working closely with our in-house artists, you’ll bring real-world and custom airline branding to life with precision and attention to detail.
📝 Work Description
As a Livery Painter, you will be responsible for creating accurate, detailed, and visually appealing aircraft liveries for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This includes both real-world airline designs and custom community or in-house concepts. You’ll work directly with our artists and developers to ensure liveries meet technical requirements, look authentic across various lighting conditions, and are optimized for performance within the simulator.
🥸 Responsibilities
- Design and produce authentic, high-fidelity aircraft liveries based on real-world references and branding materials.
- Create liveries in line with internal concepts and community requests.
- Ensure liveries are optimized for performance and compatible with MSFS standards.
- Work with 3D models and UV layouts to accurately apply liveries without distortion as decals or on base textures.
- Collaborate with the art team to maintain consistency in quality, style, and workflow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve texture-related issues within the simulator pipeline.
✅ Requirements
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and 3ds Max OR Blender for 3D decal-based livery creation.
- Strong eye for detail, accuracy, and visual design.
- Familiarity with applying and testing textures and decal models on MSFS 3D models.
- Ability to work from varied reference sources, including airline branding and photography.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable collaborating in English.
💪 Preferred Qualifications & Traits
- Previous experience creating aircraft liveries for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Prepar3D, or X-Plane.
- Personal interest in aviation, design, or simulation.
- Knowledge of the MSFS texture system, material setups, and export workflows.
🛠️ Software Proficiency
- Adobe Photoshop (essential).
- Familiarity with Autodesk 3ds Max or Blender for livery application (essential).
- Substance Painter or similar (advantageous).
