Part-time Tax Consultant

This is a remote position.

Working approximately 5 hours per month, this position provides strategic tax and commercial insights while overseeing formal engagements with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). The outcome expected is to deliver clever business advice and high-level tax guidance to support sound financial planning and restore compliance.

Representing operational and financial interests directly with revenue authorities, the role relies on established relationships and direct liaison with SARS to address regulatory requirements and query resolutions [link removed] small businesses needing guidance and support are mostly based in Gauteng, but the ability to tackle issues in other provinces would be advantageous. Ad-hoc and project-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prudent business advice and strategic tax guidance for small businesses

• Manage direct communication and submissions specifically with SARS.

• Attend SARS branches in person to resolve technical or administrative matters when required.

• Maintain constructive working relationships with SARS officials.

• Resolve longer-term payment plans where necessary

• Address compliance issues/queries where necessary
