Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational excellence of Audiohook. This role combines hands‑on accounting responsibilities with opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision‑making. You’ll collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, and Leadership to ensure accurate reporting and smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Accounting
Own the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring alignment with ASC 606
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Help prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
Process Improvement & Systems
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and automate manual processes
Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales and Operations to validate revenue and expenses
Communicate clearly and proactively in a remote‑first environment
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition standards
Advanced proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication
Preferred
CPA or CPA‑track
Experience in a startup or high‑growth company
Experience in a SaaS, ad‑tech, or tech‑driven environment
Familiarity with automated AP/AR tools, CRM integrations, or BI dashboards
